Chrome Extension — Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how HiggsPin (the "Extension") handles information when you install and use it in your Google Chrome browser. We take your privacy seriously. This document is written in plain language so you always know exactly what is happening with any data related to your use of HiggsPin.
By installing or using HiggsPin you acknowledge that you have read and understood this policy. If you do not agree with any part of it, please uninstall the Extension.
HiggsPin is a browser extension that adds a scheduling workflow on top of two third-party websites you are already using: Higgsfield.ai — an AI image-generation platform where you select images — and Pinterest (www.pinterest.com) — a visual discovery and bookmarking platform where you create and schedule pins.
HiggsPin does the following entirely inside your browser:
HiggsPin does NOT: generate any content, host any server, collect any analytics, or transmit any data to the developer or any third party.
Short answer: We collect nothing. Zero data is ever sent to us or any server we operate. Everything the Extension stores lives exclusively in your browser's local storage and is never transmitted anywhere.
The Extension stores the following items in chrome.storage.local — a sandboxed storage area that only the Extension can read, entirely on your device:
A temporary list of image URLs you have selected on Higgsfield. This list is cleared automatically when you submit a scheduling batch or click "Clear All". It contains only the public image URLs already visible in your browser — no file contents, no user-generated content.
Your last-used values for the Board, Link, Topics, Title, Description, and Days Between Posts fields. This is stored so you do not need to re-enter the same information every session. This data never leaves your device.
A temporary queue used to open Pinterest tabs one at a time in sequence. Each entry contains the image URL, your scheduling preferences, and a scheduled date. This queue is cleared automatically after all pins are processed.
When preparing to send an image to Pinterest, the Extension fetches the image through Chrome's background service worker (to bypass browser cross-origin restrictions) and temporarily stores it as a Base64 string in local storage. Each cached image is identified by a unique session ID and is deleted automatically once the Pinterest pin tab has finished processing it. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to any website or third party.
To be explicitly clear, HiggsPin does NOT collect, store, transmit, or process any of the following:
No servers: The developer of HiggsPin operates no backend servers, databases, analytics pipelines, or data collection infrastructure of any kind. There is no account system and no sign-in. The Extension is entirely self-contained in your browser.
Used exclusively to store the items described in Section 3 on your local device. unlimitedStorage is requested because image Base64 data can be large (several megabytes per image). No data is uploaded anywhere.
Required to open Pinterest pin-creation tabs and to send messages between the extension popup and the Higgsfield tab. This permission does NOT give the Extension access to the content of other tabs or your browsing history.
Used to schedule delayed pin openings. No external communication is involved.
Used to show a native desktop notification when a scheduled pin is ready to post. No notification content is sent anywhere.
Required to inject the selection UI on Higgsfield and to auto-fill the pin-creation form on Pinterest. Content scripts only run on these specific domains. They do not run on any other website.
HiggsPin is a tool that helps you use two third-party platforms you already have accounts with. Your use of those platforms is governed entirely by their own terms and privacy policies.
Higgsfield (operated by HiggsLab, Inc.) is an AI image generation platform. When you use HiggsPin on Higgsfield, you remain subject to Higgsfield's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Please review them at higgsfield.ai.
Pinterest (operated by Pinterest, Inc.) is a visual discovery platform. When HiggsPin opens Pinterest pin-creation tabs on your behalf, you remain subject to Pinterest's Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Community Guidelines. Please review them at pinterest.com/policy/.
Important: HiggsPin does not control, and is not responsible for, the data practices, content moderation, or account actions of Higgsfield or Pinterest.
HiggsPin is an independent, community-made productivity tool. The following trademarks and service marks are the exclusive property of their respective owners:
HiggsPin has no formal relationship, partnership, sponsorship, or affiliation with Pinterest, Inc. or HiggsLab, Inc. The Extension is not officially endorsed or certified by either company. Use of these names in this document is solely for descriptive, nominative fair-use purposes to identify the services with which this tool is designed to work.
Because HiggsPin stores data exclusively on your local device, you have complete, unilateral control over it at all times.
You can inspect everything HiggsPin stores by opening Chrome DevTools on any Higgsfield page → Application → Extension Storage, or via the Extension's popup interface which displays your selected images directly.
You can delete all locally stored data at any time by clicking "Clear All" in the HiggsPin popup or scheduling panel, by uninstalling the Extension (Chrome automatically purges all associated storage on uninstall), or by manually clearing extension storage via Chrome Settings → Privacy and security → Clear browsing data.
Your stored preferences (hfp_prefs_v2) are plain JSON text stored locally. You can export them at any time using Chrome's developer tools.
HiggsPin requires no registration, no login, and no email address. There is no user account to delete because none is ever created.
HiggsPin is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the European Union). We do not knowingly collect any information from children. Because HiggsPin collects no personal data from anyone, no special measures are required.
HiggsPin stores all data in Chrome's sandboxed extension storage, which is inaccessible to websites and other extensions, bound to your Chrome profile and not synced to Google servers (chrome.storage.local, not chrome.storage.sync), and automatically cleared when the Extension is uninstalled.
The Extension does not implement any network endpoints, webhooks, or external API calls beyond fetching image URLs you have already viewed in your browser. All processing occurs locally in your Chrome browser process.
The source code of HiggsPin is available for review. The extension consists of the following files, all of which run entirely in your browser:
None of these files contain obfuscated code, tracking pixels, or hidden network requests.
HiggsPin assists users in performing actions they are already permitted to perform manually on Higgsfield and Pinterest. Specifically, it does not scrape, harvest, or republish content without user initiation; does not automate actions beyond what the user explicitly triggers; does not circumvent any technical protection measures; and does not reproduce or redistribute copyrighted content — images remain hosted on their original platforms.
The use of the names "Pinterest" and "Higgsfield" constitutes nominative fair use under trademark law: we use these names only to accurately describe the services our tool is designed to work with, not to suggest any affiliation or endorsement.
If you believe HiggsPin infringes your intellectual property rights, please contact us via the Chrome Web Store support tab with a description of the work you believe is being infringed, specific identification of the material in HiggsPin, your contact information, and a statement of good-faith belief. We will respond promptly to legitimate, well-documented claims.
Because HiggsPin does not collect, store, or process any personal data on external servers, most data protection regulations (including the EU GDPR, UK GDPR, and California CCPA) do not impose direct obligations on this Extension with respect to data collection. You remain the sole data controller of anything stored locally in your browser.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the Extension evolves. When we do, the "Effective Date" at the top of this document will be updated, and material changes will be noted in the Extension's Chrome Web Store changelog. Continued use of the Extension after any change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
